    "BLEED THROUGH" NUMBERING SECURITY TECHNOLOGY

    The ink used to print a "bleed through" number contains a special dye that penetrates the paper fibers. Thus the ink becomes part of the paper fiber and "bleeds through" to the back of the paper.
